Plastic products
Plastics are synthetic or semi-synthetic materials that use polymers as a main ingredient for many everyday products from packaging to utility products and others.
Samples
Category 1: Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET)

PET has this common feels and feature: Clear, strong, and lightweight plastic widely used for food and beverage packaging such as softdrinks, juices, and drinking water.


Category 2: High Density Polyethylene (HDPE)

HDPE has this common feels and feature: Nontransparent and stronger than PET plastic, widely used for containers of edible and non-edible products, cleaning products, synthetic oils and lubricants, and pipes.


Category 4: Low Density Polyethylene (LDPE)

LDPE has this common feels and feature: Semi-transparent or nontransparent, light, and flexible plastic used for wrapping of food and other items, or as shopping bags. Includes foams and bubble wrap.



Category 5: Polypropylene (PP)

PP has this common feels and feature: Semi-transparent or solid color, light, thin and a bit hard plastic. Creates a crunchy sound when crushing. Widely used for wrapping of food (solid or semi-liquid). Mostly used as microwavable food containers and caps for PET bottles and beverage boxes



Category 6: Polystyrene (PS)

Clear, hard, light, and rather brittle. Polystyrene can be in hard solid or soft foam form. Usually used as food and beverage container with built-in insulation, and general-purpose Styrofoam.

Category 6: Others

Usually has a silver or gray later of thin plastic in a form of film or foil, widely used as sachets and ‘doypacks’ for food and non-food packaging.
